Montana native and RDO team member Lance Muller found his niche serving his county in not one, but two branches of the United States military.
After attending college for a year, Lance decided he wanted to do something different. He was always fascinated with the US Navy, and decided to follow his dreams, joining up in 1987. Lance was called to the Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia, and served there his entire Navy career as an aircraft helicopter hydraulic specialist.
Throughout his tenure, Lance had the opportunity to travel the world on various fleet missions. Despite tight quarters on military ships, he fondly recalls trips to Denmark, Belgium and France and said he particularly liked spending time in Paris.
After eight years of naval service, Lance set out for something new. Returning to his home state, he spent two years as a carpenter with US Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Missoula, Montana.
Reflecting on his military career, Lance said he was glad he served.
“I had a lot of fun with my fellow servicemen; I enjoyed traveling and really cherish the experiences I had,” Lance said.
Following his time in the Army Corps, Lance got married and moved to Minnesota with his wife. He has been an RDO team member for 10 years, working out of the Park Rapids Trucking Division.
As a local driver, he has almost 300,000 accident-free miles and said he likes working at RDO, enjoying the camaraderie with his team members and traveling throughout central Minnesota. In his spare time, he likes to ride motorcycles and hunt.
Thank you to Lance, all RDO Veterans, and Veterans everywhere for your service to our country and your commitment to our freedom!
